Our Passion and Origins: From Farm to Cup

For the three of us, our love for matcha came in its own unique way.

One of us grew up sitting through tea ceremonies from the age of three, barely able to keep still on the tatami mats. It’s no secret that the colorful wagashi sweets were the initial attraction—but over time, the sound of the whisk and gentle aroma of the tea became a comforting part of everyday life.

Meanwhile, another discovered matcha as an adult, when a taste of Japanese tea sparked curiosity in an entirely different culture. Realizing that a “simple” drink is all it takes to open one’s mind, he found himself wanting to build more of these connections with people from all over the world.

And finally, there’s the one who fell in love with Japan during his travels, learning about the abundance of matcha and drawn by the depth and personality each variety has to offer. A pastime eventually turned into fascination, enough to devote oneself to studying matcha’s complexities as a connoisseur.

We’ve traveled across Japan to renowned tea fields, appreciating the work of farmers whose care and skill bring out the best in every harvest.
